setup
_sortition
- Create a new hub
- The URL can be copied and used in either _sludge to connect a stream URL, or in _syllid to get a random stream URL
_sludge
- Populate streams list, they can be created or by providing existing admin URL.
- Streams can be navigated using the select box.
- The Hub section shows the list of connected hubs and provides a form to add more hub URLs to the stream.
- The button in the top right corner connects you directly to the splutter app, prepopulated with the stream URLs for upload.
A stream's URLs are:
- Admin URL, used for fetching all 3 URLs and for sending individual segments
- Download URL, a public URL for fetching the segment list for sequential download and playback
- Hub URL, for managing the hubs the download url is connected to, they can be fetched for reference, added to and deleted
_splutter
- The activation button will prompt for access to the audio input.
- The deactivation button will stop audio device access, including recording and playback.
- Selecting a URL isolates it for upload by a specified channel, this prevents multiple channels sending their audio segments to the same endpoint.
- Multiple endpoints can be selected per channel.
- Selecting the upload button will send recorded and encoded audio segments to any selected endpoints.
- Selecting an output channel will send the input channel directly to that output channel.
_syllid
- Clicking the start button will allow the browser to access the audio output.
- Clicking stop button will immediately end all audio playback and any downloading.
- Add a hub (or multiple hubs) to start fetching random streams.
- Select output channels to begin listening to audio.
Notes:
- Browser incompatabilities mean that not all audio channels will have sound.
- It is recommended to position speakers in a non-traditional manner.
